Specialist Equipment

Introduction

Deciding what equipment to install in your home is an important part of the success of your adaptation, but with so much choice available, it can be confusing. That's why we work with Occupational Therapists (OT's) to assess your needs.

Along with the OT we will help you decide on the adaptations that are needed and explain any technical aspects in a non-technical way. We are approved installers for all the main suppliers such as Impey, AKW and Mira. A range of brochures and samples can be viewed to help you choose the products you need and finish you want.

Kitchens

kitchen.jpgBeing able to prepare your own meal, or just make a cup of tea, is something that can be literally just out of reach for many people. Adjustments to a kitchen can create an environment that will be enjoyed again by you and your family.

We can provide low level units and sinks, with height adjustable versions for even more flexibility. In the same vein, we can make electrical modifications such as lowering or relocating switches and sockets. Simply fitting lever taps can make the process of filling the kettle or running water for washing-up much easier.

We supply and lay safety flooring, which can help prevent falls and accidents, and we can widen doorways to give ease of access for wheelchairs.

Bathrooms

Widening the doorway can allow you to access the room unassisted if you are in a wheelchair and grab rails can help you move around in safety if you have limited mobility. Lever taps make it much easier to run baths and showers and a semi-automatic or raised height WC can transform your life in the most fundamental of ways. We fit level access showers and wet-rooms with specially adapted doors, tile the walls, lay anti-slip vinyl flooring, improve access to showers and baths and fit new lighting or make alterations to any  electrics.

Access

Access_160x160.jpgA variety of options to help you access your home safely and easily can be provided.

Ramps and railings are basic, yet effective, modifications that make a huge difference. Access systems, such as automated door openers and phone entry systems, offer even more freedom.

If you rely on a mobility scooter to get around, we can erect a scooter shelter so you are assured it is secure when not in use. We can also offer other building alterations and extensions to help make your life easier.
